Job Summary:

The Calibration Technician III performs advanced calibration tasks, ensures precision and accuracy in measurement equipment, and provides technical expertise for complex calibration procedures. This role involves troubleshooting, maintaining calibration records, and supporting the development of calibration processes and standards.

Hourly Pay Rate: Depending on experience $30.00 to $40.00

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Advanced Calibration:
    • Perform calibration, adjustment, and maintenance on complex and sophisticated measurement and test equipment.
    • Utilize advanced calibration techniques and tools to ensure equipment meets required specifications and standards.
  2. Technical Expertise:
    • Provide expert-level troubleshooting and resolution for calibration-related issues.
    • Interpret complex technical data and specifications to make precise adjustments and calibrations.
  3. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate and detailed calibration records, including calibration certificates and compliance documentation.
    • Prepare comprehensive reports on calibration activities, results, and equipment status.
  4. Process Improvement:
    • Develop and refine calibration procedures and methodologies to improve accuracy and efficiency.
    • Assist in the development of new calibration techniques and tools.
  5. Compliance and Standards:
    • Ensure all calibration activities comply with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
    • Conduct regular audits and assessments to verify adherence to quality and calibration standards.
  6. Training and Mentorship:
    • Provide guidance and training to junior technicians and other team members.
    • Share expertise and best practices to enhance team performance and skill development.
  7. Equipment Management:
    • Oversee the maintenance and calibration of calibration equipment and tools.
    • Manage inventory and order calibration supplies as needed.
  8. Collaboration:
    • Work closely with engineering, quality assurance, and production teams to support calibration needs and resolve equipment issues.
    • Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives as required.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate's degree in Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent technical training.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in calibration, with at least 2 years in a senior or advanced role.
  • Skills:
    • In-depth knowledge of calibration principles, techniques, and industry standards.
    • Proficiency in using advanced calibration equipment and software.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Effective communication and documentation skills.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications (CCT from ASQ) are preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move equipment up to 25 lbs.
  • Capability to work in various environments, including clean rooms and industrial settings.
