Key Responsibilities:

Material Handling:

  • Assist in the loading, unloading, and organization of metal materials and finished products.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate basic shop tools and machinery, such as saws, grinders, and drill presses, under supervision.
  • Support Fabricators: Assist fabricators in measuring, cutting, and assembling metal parts and structures.
  •  
  • Welding Assistance: Support welders by preparing materials, holding parts in place, and cleaning welds as required.
  • Quality Control: Inspect parts and assemblies for accuracy and quality according to shop standards.
  • Shop Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by sweeping, removing debris, and performing routine maintenance on equipment.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in tracking and organizing inventory of materials and supplies.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as needed to support the fabrication team and shop operations.
  • Qualifications:


Experience: Previous experience in a metal fabrication or industrial environment is preferred but not required.

Skills: Basic understanding of hand tools, power tools, and shop machinery.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs), stand for extended periods, and perform physical labor.

Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy and quality in all tasks.

Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and take direction from supervisors.

Willingness to Learn: Eagerness to learn new skills and processes related to metal fabrication.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Technical training in metalworking, welding, or a related field is a plus.

Work Environment:

  • The work is performed in a fabrication shop environment with exposure to noise, dust, and heavy machinery.
  • Must be able to wear necessary PPE, such as gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
