We have partnered with a 200 unit apartment complex in Bridgeton who is in need of Collections and Legal Support.

 

Collection/Legal Specialist

Role Summary:

 

Responsible for managing and overseeing the collection of outstanding debts and handling legal matters related to delinquent accounts for a property management company. This role involves ensuring timely rent payments, addressing delinquencies, and coordinating legal actions when necessary to recover debts and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.

 

1. Debt Collection:

   - Monitor and manage accounts receivable to ensure timely rent payments as well as post payments as they come in.

   - Contact residents with overdue accounts via phone, email, and written notices.

   - Negotiate payment plans and settlements with residents to resolve delinquencies.

   - Track and document all collection activities in the property management system.

 

2. Legal Coordination:

   - Prepare and file legal documents for eviction proceedings and other legal actions related to delinquent accounts.

   - Coordinate with attorneys, court officials, and other legal professionals to facilitate legal processes.

   - Attend court hearings and provide testimony or documentation as needed.

   - Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws regarding debt collection and eviction processes.

 

3. Reporting and Documentation:

   - Generate and maintain reports on collection activities, delinquencies, and legal actions.

   - Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on the status of outstanding accounts and collection efforts.

   - Maintain accurate and organized records of all communications, agreements, and legal documents.

 

4. Resident Communication and Support:

   - Communicate with residents to explain their account status, payment options, and legal implications.

   - Provide guidance and support to residents in understanding their obligations and the collection process.

   - Address resident questions and concerns related to collections and legal matters.
