Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Mold Repair Supervisor to join our team. The Mold Repair Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the repair and maintenance of molds used in the production process. This individual will lead a team of mold repair technicians, ensuring that molds are repaired efficiently to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules. The Mold Repair Supervisor will also collaborate closely with production and engineering teams to identify opportunities for mold improvement and optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a team of mold repair technicians, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
  • Plan and prioritize mold repair tasks to ensure timely completion and minimal disruption to production schedules.
  • Perform hands-on mold repair and maintenance tasks as required, including cleaning, polishing, and repairing molds.
  • Conduct regular inspections of molds to identify wear, damage, or other issues that may impact performance.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to troubleshoot mold-related issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Complete tool reviews on new injection molds with outside tool shops.
  • Conduct tool reviews internally with project teams.
  • Recommend yearly tool budgets for repairs and supplies of department.
  • Maintain accurate records of mold repair activities, including maintenance schedules, repair histories, and inventory of spare parts.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies in all mold repair activities.
  • Perform performance reviews and disciplinary actions as required.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in mold repair or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in mold repair and maintenance, with at least 8 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in welding, benching/spotting, machining, and troubleshooting injection molds
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a focus on identifying root causes and implementing sustainable solutions.
  • Solid understanding of mold design and construction principles.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, precision measurement instruments, and other equipment commonly used in mold repair.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, prioritizing tasks and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with team members, colleagues, and external partners.
