Purpose:
Independently performs diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and /or dealer-owned Agricultural Equipment with emphasis on Sprayers and Application equipment. Candidates require a strong work ethic to complete tasks efficiently with minimal supervision. Communication skills are required to clearly articulate aspects of work being performed to a customer in a courteous manner. This is an excellent opportunity for a self motivated individual interested in working for an established dealership.
Responsibilities:
Performs advanced diagnostics and repairs on Agricultural equipment, and established Precision Ag products, Sprayers, Dry box units and other Application units.
Performs diagnostics and repairs in the field as required.
Responsible for complete and thorough documentation of diagnostics and repairs performed on work orders and on time submission of information.
Accountable for billable time and assigned work orders.
Conducts and supports customer clinics.
Mentors Service Technician Trainees and Service Technicians.
Participate in the JDU Training program required for development of skills and knowledge.
Operates and maintains vehicles, tools and equipment required to perform job responsibilities.
Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.
Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.
Maintain a clean work area and perform work in a neat and orderly fashion.
Overnight travel may be required at times.
Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:
Preferably one year of experience performing Ag equipment service repairs.
Basic understanding of chemicals used in the application industry
Basic knowledge of application rates and requirements
Experience with basic computer functions.
Work independently or in a team environment.
Ability to perform advanced repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures.
Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in the repair of Application equipment.
Must have an adequate tool set to perform job responsibilities.
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
Valid Driver's license.
DOT Medical Certification and be able to maintain as required
The pay range for this position is $20-$38 per hour, based on experience.
