Atlantic Tractor, recently certified as a Great Place to Work by the Great Place to Work Institute, is looking for a John Deere Sprayer Technician to join the Service department at its store in Whiteford, Maryland.

Purpose:

Independently performs diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and /or dealer-owned Agricultural Equipment with emphasis on Sprayers and Application equipment. Candidates require a strong work ethic to complete tasks efficiently with minimal supervision. Communication skills are required to clearly articulate aspects of work being performed to a customer in a courteous manner. This is an excellent opportunity for a self motivated individual interested in working for an established dealership.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs advanced diagnostics and repairs on Agricultural equipment, and established Precision Ag products, Sprayers, Dry box units and other Application units.

  • Performs diagnostics and repairs in the field as required.

  • Responsible for complete and thorough documentation of diagnostics and repairs performed on work orders and on time submission of information.

  • Accountable for billable time and assigned work orders.

  • Conducts and supports customer clinics.

  • Mentors Service Technician Trainees and Service Technicians.

  • Participate in the JDU Training program required for development of skills and knowledge.

  • Operates and maintains vehicles, tools and equipment required to perform job responsibilities.

  • Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.

  • Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.

  • Maintain a clean work area and perform work in a neat and orderly fashion.

  • Overnight travel may be required at times.

Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:

  • Preferably one year of experience performing Ag equipment service repairs.

  • Basic understanding of chemicals used in the application industry

  • Basic knowledge of application rates and requirements

  • Experience with basic computer functions.

  • Work independently or in a team environment.

  • Ability to perform advanced repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures.

  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in the repair of Application equipment.

  • Must have an adequate tool set to perform job responsibilities.

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.

  • Valid Driver's license.

  • DOT Medical Certification and be able to maintain as required


The pay range for this position is $20-$38 per hour, based on experience.
