The Controller is responsible for providing day-to-day leadership for the Company’s accounting operation, establishing and maintaining an adequate system of accounting records and related control environment, while managing financial reporting requirements in accordance with GAAP.

Job Duties and Skills  

Responsible for the oversight, preparation, analysis and monthly distribution of the company’s financial statements. As well as managing the monthly, quarterly and annual accounting closing processes including variance analysis to ensure accurate, timely and relevant financial reporting.

Serve as the critical link that binds accounting to the entire senior management team, good communicator with the ability to grasp the entire business, not just the accounting department. Strong leadership skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to lead a team of 15.

Manage company’s accounting department, by overseeing accounting team, advising executives on financial manners, assisting with budgets and ensure the accounting functions run smoothly.

Oversee the organization’s daily accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, cost accounting, inventory accounting, revenue recognition, journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals.

Manage cash flow, asset based lending reporting and borrowing base certification.

Protect company assets by establishing, monitoring and enforcing internal controls. Manage annual audits conducted by company banking partners and external auditors.

Supervisory Responsibilities                                                   

 Directly supervises employees in the accounting Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.  

Education and/or Experience                                                  

 Bachelor's degree in accounting.

Five or more years demonstrated success and related experience with a company generating at least $100 million in annual revenues.

Experience collaborating directly with auditors, external advisor, lawyers, bankers, and Board of Directors. 

Computer Skills                                              

 To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Sage, Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, Adobe, and Outlook.
