The Maintenance Planner performs a critical role in providing technical assistance to the maintenance organization, in analyzing planned and completed work orders, and soliciting input from key staff to facilitate improvements in current and future job plans. The planner is also accountable for creating appropriate equipment files, and for ensuring timely updates with relevant maintenance and repair histories to aid in future job plan development. The planner incorporates continuous improvement feedback into the planning strategy utilizing experiences in planning techniques and the use of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

Essential Duties:

  • Schedule and plan daily, weekly, and annual PM assignments
  • Review and evaluate work requests submitted from plant team members and management
  • Efficiently create work orders by adding parts needed and proper estimation of the mechanic’s time needed to complete each task
  • Ownership in programs (Safety, Quality, Re-builds and PMs)
  • Coordinate with planning to implement projects and upgrades
  • Enter new equipment or make changes of existing equipment as required into the work order system
  • Maintain, monitor, and update PM schedules and completion, while providing feedback to Maintenance Team and Management.
  • Responsible for coordinating with Planning on machine availability.
  • Works with vendors to ensure correct material and parts are available on all work to be planned/scheduled.
  • Track work completion, mechanic schedule attainment and parts inventory for continuous improvement and reliability
  • Responsible for the accuracy of cross-referencing part numbers, vendor information, descriptions, etc
  • Manage Part Coordinators to ensure appropriate inventory levels are met, stockrooms are neat and orderly, and that critical parts are expedited when necessary
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Thorough knowledge of plant equipment and parameters of work
  • Proficient use of planning software in a Planner/Scheduler role
  • Able to prioritize effectively
  • Ability to give and receive feedback
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers, leads and Supervisors
  • Shows and exhibits respect to all personnel
  • Demonstrates good analytical problem solving skills
  • Ability to work flexible schedule to touch base with all shifts when needed
  • Focus on attaining production standards on all lines
  • Comply with all Safety, SQF, and GMP guidelines
  • Must be able to work as part of a team
  • Must have the ability to stand for an extended period of time
  • Ability to climb a ladder and work at heights.
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
