Do you have experience weighing, mixing and blending in a cleanroom environment? Are you looking for a position that offers growth? An International Optical Medical Device company located in south Orange County, CA (Aliso Viejo) is looking to identify and hire a Cleanroom Mixing Technician / Compounder / Mixer that will report to the Manager of Manufacturing Chemistry Group. The Cleanroom Mixing / Compounding Technician will be responsible for day-to-day tasks associated with development and manufacturing of LAL. This position is primarily responsible for following procedures and executing each step in formulating production and working in a R&D in a cleanroom environment.
The Cleanroom Mixing / Compounding Technician will be responsible for:
- Preparing LAL components to support lens production in the cleanroom environment.
- Weighing, mixing and blending formulations based on established procedures.
- Producing silicone-based formulations using various materials preparation techniques and mixing protocols.
- Making base bath, cleaning laboratory glassware and packing material mixing kit.
- Assisting with thorough data acquisition, recording and management.
- Employees may also be trained and asked to execute activities beyond this job description.,
- Additionally, employee may be certified to lead a process or set of processes, once proving they have mastery of the area and meeting the above criteria.
Requirements:
- Associates degree or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in chemical or medical devices industry.
- Prior experience working as a Blender, Mixer, Compounder or similar role that includes weighing and mixing.
- Basic understanding of chemical/chemistry processes is desirable.
- Prior experience of working in cleanroom environment and/or chemistry lab is required.
- Professional, responsible, energetic, and accountable.
- Good knowledge of basic materials characterization techniques (UV-Vis, GPC, Comparator, Durometer) is preferred, not required.
- Prior experience working with silicone and silicone-based resins with silicone resins is a desirable.
- Self-starter and a well-organized individual with problem solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Intellectually curious and eager to learn.
- Must be US citizen or Permanent Resident of the U.S.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools.
