Pride Health is hiring a Phlebotomist to support our client’s medical facility based in Schaumburg IL 60173. This is a Contract job with a possible extension opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization

Location: Schaumburg IL 60173

Job Type: 03-06+ Months initially - W2 contract - with possible extension

Schedule – M-F 830-5p, Every Other Sat 8-2p Central Time Zone

Pay Range: $20-$28(Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.)

 

Responsibilities:

• Experience doing blood draws, labelling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection (ex. urine or fecal) as required.
• Demonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Package specimens for transport.
• Stores specimen samples according to the required temperature, places samples in appropriate collection container/ tube, accurately labels, follows different procedures as outlined by specific to protocol deemed necessary for transport to maintain the integrity of the specimen.

 

​Qualifications:

• Previous experience in phlebotomy, nursing, or other related fields
• Ability to build rapport with patients
• Familiarity with medical software and equipment  
• Strong organizational skills

Note : Floating between 3 IOPS

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred. Phlebotomy certification preferred. Required in California, Nevada, and Washington. Work Experience: Three years phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric and capillary collections. Minimum 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred. Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred. Keyboard/data entry experience.
