Accountant - Construction - Home Builder

Gallagher and Henry is a family owned residential builder and general contractor, who has been building in the Chicagoland area since 1954. Our established construction company has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Accountant with Office Management skills to join our team of professionals. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in accounting, be organized, motivated, detail-oriented and driven. This is a great opportunity to build a career at an established construction firm.

    • Commercial Owners Association
    • Company Records
    • Account Analysis
  • Supervise two accounting personnel
  • Payroll Processing and H/R
    • Payroll Tax Returns
    • H/R Policy Administration
    • Administer 401k Plan
  • Business Insurance Policy Contracts
    • Reports and Audits
    • Worker’s Compensation – Builder’s Risk – General and Umbrella Liability – Equipment and Auto Collision and Liability
  • Annual External Audit – Point Person
    • Prepare Audit Schedule
    • Auditor Request/Inquiry Resolution
    • Review Audited Financials and Notes to Statements
  • Office Equipment Contracts – Maintenance and Testing
    • Copiers, Printers, Telephone System, Mailing System, Internet, Fire and Security Alarms

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Business Administration/Accounting

Skills

  • 5 years plus experience in accounting
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with Constellation Home Builder – New Star Enterprise (ERP system) a plus
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to proactively prioritize needs and effectively manage time and resources
