Specializes as a Medical Assistant.

Preferred - Pediatrician practice.

General purpose:

Responsible for completing a variety of medical/administrative-related tasks in support of the medical provider.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisted with direct patient care procedures and related tasks; checked in patients; assisted in obtaining patient histories; took vital signs; prepared charts; and assisted with medical examinations.
  • Maintains stocks of medical supplies as necessary in the exam rooms.
  • Interview patients and record information, including a week of pregnancy, if applicable, and document on patients' charts.
  • Educates and advises patients on specified medical issues within established parameters.
  • Practices safety, environmental, and infection control methods.
  • Performs standing orders as approved by the department and in accordance with policy and procedures.
  • Prepares treatment rooms for the examination of patients.
  • Works and completes tasks in the electronic medical record system in a timely manner.
  • Translate when necessary.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical assistant certificate or training.
  • BLS/CPR Certification.
  • 0-3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Bilingual preferred (Spanish/Creole).
