The Collections Specialist is responsible for all aspects of community association collections and account monitoring.  This role does not perform any outbound calling

This is a full-time, hourly-paid position (40 hours/week) that comes with competitive compensation based on knowledge and experience, a full benefits package including medical, vision and dental programs, insurance options, paid time off, a 401k option, hybrid work, and much more.  

Essential Job Functions:

·         Manage collections processes for an assigned portfolio of homeowner associations and condominium associations.

·         Review aging reports for each community, update collection statuses, notate accounts, follow action process and procedure.

  • Liaison between the community association attorney, the community manager, and board of directors.
  • Communicate with community manager/board of directors regarding recommendations and course of action.
  • Track bankruptcies, foreclosures, and lawsuits for reporting purposes.
  • Reconcile accounts including, but not limited to, charge adjustments, foreclosure write-offs, and updating account records of foreclosure, judgement, consent order and bankruptcies.
  • Communicate professionally with homeowners to resolve account balance concerns.
  • Conform with and abide by all company policies and procedures.

Desired Skills and Experience:

·         Associate or bachelor degree desired, and/or 2+years of directly related or closely related experience. 

·         Work experience in a Paralegal, Legal Assistant, or Real Estate law position highly desirable. 

·         Knowledge of community association management desirable.

·         Knowledge of collection terms and processes.

·         Knowledge of the litigation process and the legal concepts associated with specific legal needs.

·         Ability to perform calculations and analysis used in basic accounting.

·         Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, outlook, Word, etc.) at a proficient level.

·         Professional communication skills both written and verbal with a polished and friendly demeanor.

·         Self-motivated, detail-focused and enjoys working within a team environment. 

·         Effective time management and organizational skills.
