Job DescriptionJob Description

Forensic Nurse Examiner-FNE (PRN-Evenings, Weekends, Holidays)  

This is a PRN, on-call paid position for nights, weekends and holidays, when the center is not actively staffed. This position is responsible for ensuring delivery of Forensic Medical Services when requested by law enforcement and the Department of Family and Children Services, for children victimized by crimes of sexual assault/abuse and violence. This includes timely, accurate charting and entry of client information into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Collaborate case tracking system.   

 

In addition, the FNE will assist with administrative tasks as requested. Participate and engage in staff meetings and other agency and community functions that represent the agency and promote the agency programs of direct victim-services for children victimized by crimes.  

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:  

  • Current RN licensure in the state of Georgia, BCLS certification.  

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing BSN.  

  • Performed successfully in the role of an FNE/SANE for acute cases for at least two years or 150 patients; and effectively performed child SA FNE/SANE for a period of 2-years and/or 150 patients.  

  • Provided testimony in at least 2 court trials pertaining to the professional role of an FNE/SANE.  

  • Completed or willing to complete an approved sexual assault nurse examiners program (40-hours didactic); successfully completed clinical competency preceptorship in the role of SANE.  

  • Priority consideration given to SANE’s with SANE-A and SANE-P certification (IAFN).
