Food manufacturing company in Azusa is looking for a new Material handler to join the production team.

 

  • 1st shift and 2nd shift available
  • Monday - Friday and Saturdays if needed
  • Overtime daily
  • Temp to hire

 

This position assists leads and supervisor by ensuring the facility is safe, clean and in orderly condition. Under the direction of the lead, supervisor and/or manager, the production line supply will assist by pulling materials, placing materials inside the processing area, preparing ingredient kits per items scheduled, sort or place ingredients on racks, bins, etc. This position maintains inventory controls by verifying amounts of materials or items staged during the day-to day operations. May also assist in counting of physical inventory and retrieving materials in the warehouse. The position performs light and heavy duties, and it also assists with basic cleaning tasks.

 

 

General Functions

  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by keeping pallet area, and work stations neat; sweep, dust and mop. Organize ingredient staging area for orderliness at all times.
  • Wear proper PPE if necessary
  • Verify ingredients and/or packing materials (quantity and description) staged by the warehouse. Line suppliers must verify physical ingredients and/or packing materials against the job requirements report and/or spec sheets.
  • Preparing and completing ingredients and/or material kits per item scheduled
  • To accurately place ingredients inside the processing floor in an orderly manner
  • To accurately replenish ingredients and/or materials throughout the shift
  • To safely and orderly remove ingredients and/or materials from inside the processing floor at the end of the production run
  • To systematically return ingredients and/or materials at the end of each production run
  • To properly label all ingredients and/or material partials before returning to warehouse
  • To create asset disposal form for damaged items and to notify QA and WH
  • To break down pallets of frozen ingredients and to be able to systematically adjust when needed
  • Other tasks assigned by management outside the scope of regular duties

Qualifications

  • 2 years manufacturing operations experience
  • Operate inventory control equipment, i.e., handheld scanning gun
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Data entry and computer skills may be required

 

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Regularly lifting, twisting and bending.
  • Regularly lift and/or move, push and pull objects 10-50 lbs
  • Work hours in excess of forty (40) hours will be required.
