Position Title: Visitor Connector

Reporting Department: Visitor Services

Reporting Supervisor: Visitor Services Manager

Location: Main Building

FLSA Status: Non-exempt, Part-Time

Organizational Function: Front Line


PURPOSE:

Create a positive experience for all guests at the time of their arrival. Connect visitors to the experiences available to them at the moment and in the future. Connects visitors to appropriate staff to meet their needs. Serves as the Minnetrista ambassador through customer service.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Display excellent verbal and telephone skills and a clear speaking voice.
  • Present a professional attitude and appearance, sound interpersonal and communication skills, organizational skills, ability to prioritize multiple projects/tasks, and good record keeping skills.
  • Able to work with individuals of all ages and backgrounds.

The incumbent ensures effective working relationships by cultivating and maintaining professional credibility with all staff, administration, and volunteers. The individual demonstrates maturity, sound judgment, positive attitude, and works collaboratively with peers and colleagues throughout the organization and community.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

JOB DUTIES:

  • Engage visitors in casual conversation to welcome, orient, and connect to available experiences; listen to the visitor and offer solutions when appropriate.
  • Inform visitors about future programs and events to cross-sell these experiences.
  • Process admissions, program & room reservations and other sales using a database.
  • Provide customer service by assisting walk-in visitors, processing telephone calls and directing internal communications (phone, email and radio).
  • Participate in visitor services and institutional training opportunities to gain proficiency and to learn information about Minnetrista and the community.
  • Perform all other duties required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Primarily a sedentary office environment with desk, computer, phone, and files. Must be able to reach overhead and beneath a desk, sit at a work station for long periods of time and handle items approximately 20 lbs. Must be able to move about the entire Minnetrista 40-acre campus. Work schedule flexibility is critical, including some night and weekend work.

Hours vary, based on availability and need: Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Sunday 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Approximately 20 hours a week; weekend availability and open availability preferred.
