Black Swamp Steel, Inc. is a certified steel contractor in Ohio and Michigan. We offer quality service for Reinforcing Steel Installation, Structural Steel Erection, and Reinforcing Steel Fabrication and Supply. Black Swamp Steel, Inc. is based out of Holland, Ohio and has served the steel industry for over 33 years.
We are searching for a positive and energetic Rebar Shop Fabrication Technician / Delivery Driver for our branch in Holland, OH
Key Responsibilities:
- Fabricate Reinforcing Steel (Rebar)
- Delivery of orders to customers. (This can include active job sites.)
- Work with Project Manager in regards to the daily, weekly and monthly activities
- Operate bending machines, shears, and other fabrication equipment to process rebar efficiently
- Ensure accurate measurements and dimensions of rebar pieces using tape measures, rulers, and templates.
- Assist in the preparation and completion of physical inventory counts.
- Customer service. Complete general shipping and receiving documents while assisting customers.
- Comply with all safety rules and ensure that warehouse staff uses all appropriate safety equipment.
- Confirm item quantities, coming in and going out of shop, for accuracy.
- Assist in the loading and unloading of trucks. (Manual and/or forklift assisted)
Qualifications:
- Pays attention to details. Strives for excellence in performing daily work and in completing tasks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Dependable and Trustworthy.
- Effectively manage multiple tasks and handle all responsibilities with a sense of urgency.
- Be able to manage time effectively, take initiative, and adjust priorities as required.
- Excellent work ethic and “Get it done” attitude. Willing to learn the job and have a desire for continual improvement
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
- Must be able to stand, sit, crouch, kneel, reach overhead, twist, and bend on a regular basis.
- Must pass Drug Test, DOT Physical and Background Check.
- Must have valid Driver’s License and be able to commute to our shop, with dependability
- Comfortable driving / navigating a large truck pulling a trailer.
- Forklift knowledge, preferred.
