Pride Health is hiring a phlebotomist to support our client’s medical facility in Wallingford, CT. This is a 6+ month with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization

Title: Floater Phlebotomist

Location: Wallingford, CT 06492

Pay Rate: $18.00 - $22/hr. on W2.

Shift: Monday - Friday 7:00 am-4:00 pm

Duration: 5+ Months

*Pay Rate is based on experience and educational qualifications.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture to collect blood specimens from patients of all ages.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety during the collection process.
  • Accurately label specimens and complete requisition forms.
  • Adhere to standardized procedures for waived testing, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of results
  • Properly handle and store specimens to maintain sample integrity.
  • Follow protocols for specimen transport and disposal
  • Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) as directed by healthcare providers.
  • Apply electrodes and monitor patients during the procedure to ensure quality tracings.
  • Prepare and verify manifests for specimens being sent to external laboratories or for transportation purposes.

Job Requirements:

1. Five years phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric and capillary collections.

2. Minimum 3 years in a PSC/IOP environment preferred.

3. Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.

4. Keyboard/data entry experience.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.

2. Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.

3. Phlebotomy certification preferred. Required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
