Ronco is seeking an experienced, self-motivated AV/Education Systems Design Engineer in Rochester, NY. In this role, you will collaborate with the Account Managers to provide the technical expertise required during the sales process. You will be responsible for developing the solution, bill of materials, the scope of work, and supporting documentation.


Accountabilities Include:

  • Attend in-person or virtual discovery meetings to identify Customers' technology and business requirements
  • Attend site surveys to obtain design space details
  • Explain technical solutions in simplified terms to customers of varying technical ability
  • Create one-line conceptual system diagrams using AutoCAD or Visio
  • Provide detailed Scope of Work and Operational Narrative for the proposed solution
  • Review Requests for Proposal (RFP) and generate Requests for Information (RFI) to address design deficiencies
  • Create installation drawing package to include floorplan layout, rack elevations, mounting elevations, and wiring diagrams for smaller design-build Audio-Visual projects

Requirements for Success:

  • Associate degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
  • A minimum of 2 years of recent experience in the design of audio-visual or education systems
  • Experience working in AutoCAD, Visio, D-Tools, or similar audio-visual design software
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude working with Crestron, Extron, Biamp, and other similar products
  • AVIXA CTS or CTS-D preferred
  • Strong demonstrated communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of data networking as it relates to audio-visual systems
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Occasional regional travel will be required
