Maintenance Technician

Purpose of your job position:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for repair and maintenance of hospital equipment, machinery, furniture, buildings, air conditioning system, heating system, electrical system and refrigeration system. Completes all paperwork in a timely manner. Assists in the orientation of new employees when required. They will follow hospital policy and procedures. Additional job duties or functions, not related to Maintenance, may be requested per administration to assist in other areas of the hospital within their capabilities.

Listed below is an outline of the major duties and responsibilities that you will be required to perform. As a Maintenance Technician, you are delegated the authority, responsibility and accountability to carry out your assigned duties.

• Compliant with all regulations as listed in the North Caddo Medical Center employee handbook. Follow all Policy and Procedures in the Nursing Service Manual. Must review policy and procedure yearly. Follow job description outline.

• Follow the proper chain of command.

• Demonstrates a positive attitude and quality of work that promotes customer-centered services.

• Dresses and conducts oneself in a professional and courteous manner at all times.

• Keeps absenteeism and tardiness at a minimum.

• Performs additional duties as requested by the Supervisor.

• Maintains patient confidentiality.

• Attends staff meetings and participates in in-services as required.

• Able to quickly understand new information and situations.

• Reliable, dependable and trustworthy. Able to complete jobs with supervision.

• Completes all paper work in a timely manner.

• Install, maintain and repair hospital heating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems.

• Maintain and repair hospital electrical system and equipment.

• Knowledge of the equipment and tools being used.

• Report any and all maintenance problems detected directly to the Maintenance Services Director. In the absence of the Director, exert own initiative and judgment to correct problem.

• Take “call” as assigned by the Maintenance Director.

• Repair furnishings as needed.

• Repair, paint, patch and maintain physical structure.

• Follows North Caddo Medical Center’s Customer Service Standards.
