CNC Machinist

Tarheel Tooling is currently seeking a CNC Machinist that will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC Mills and/or Lathes to create, modify, or repair precision parts.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Manual Lathes: The ability to run Manual Mills & Lathes is a plus but not required.

• Interpretation of Drawings and Models: Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and models to guide machining programs and processes.

• Machine Setup: Setup CNC Mills and/or Lathes, including tool selection, fixture preparation, and workpiece loading to ensuring that all parameters meet design requirements.

• Material Knowledge: Experience with a variety of materials.

• CNC Programming: Develop CNC programs using G-code and/or CAM software for Haas and/or Prototrak CNC Mills and/or Lathes to manufacture precision parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.

• CNC Operation: Run CNC Mills and/or Lathes to produce parts with typical tolerances of .005 inches, monitoring the machining process to ensure quality and efficiency.

• Quality Control: Preform in-process and final inspections of machined parts using precision measuring tools to ensure compliance with design specifications.

• Tooling Management: Manage and maintain cutting tools, toolholders, and other tooling equipment to optimize machining processes and minimize downtime.

• GD&T Understanding: Interpret and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to achieve precise and accurate machined components.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certification in CNC machining is preferred.

• Proven experience as a CNC Machinist with expertise in programming and operating CNC Mills/Lathes, preferably Haas and ProtoTrak.

• Solid understanding of machining principles, materials, and processes.

• Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality, precision parts.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

• Communicate effectively with team members.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues related to machining processes.

• A strong mechanical aptitude.

• Legal authorization to work in the USA is required.

• Day shift

Supplemental pay types:

• Overtime pay
