Job Summary:

The Controller is a key business partner responsible for leading the accounting, finance, budgeting, and costing functions in support of the achievement of company business goals while ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This position is a member of the senior leadership team of the company.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Lead the accounting and finance Team including IT systems support.

Coach, train and develop an efficient Team.

Maintaineffective cross functional relationships with key members of all company departments to drive better business performance.

Develop, review, and maintain financial reporting policies and procedures to ensure proper and timely financial and tax accounting in accordance with GAAP and IRS rules.

Manage timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and analysis of variances to budget and forecasts.

Manage timely reporting of weekly/monthly KPIs and analyzing causes of unexpected variances.

Oversee and monitor cash management, cash balances and cash forecasts.

Lead annual operational and capital budgeting process working with all functional areas and departments.

Oversee annual audits on time and with minimal or no adjustments.

Oversee timely preparation of annual income tax return information.

Understand, document, and maintain systems of internal controls to safeguard assets.

Maintain a rolling 13-week cash flow projection to track cash position and forecasted cash sources and uses.

Maintain a rolling 12-month income statement forecast for business planning including quarterly compliance with financing covenants.

Manage banking relationships and any third parties to which functions have been outsourced.

Be the key liaison with accounting software provider, develop solid understanding of the systems capabilities and maintain currency in improvements and upgrades as may be applicable.

Ensure that Company recordkeeping complies with all legal and regulatory requirements.

Promote continuous improvement culture with accounting team and cross functionally.

Participate actively as a member of the Senior Leadership Team including long range planning.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or related field. Graduate degree a plus.

Experience:

7+ years senior leadership experience with expertise in financial accounting and analysis, and cost accounting in a manufacturing environment

Strong familiarity with GAAP and internal controls.

Finance background preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

CPA a plus

Computer Skills:

Experience with cost accounting ERP systems.

Advanced Excel user including pivot tables and vlookups, macros, etc.

Intermediate -advanced user of MS Word and PowerPoint.

Mathematical Abilities:

Advanced financial math skills.

Analytical or Reasoning Abilities:

Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills. Ability to understand complex situations and come up with practical and effective solutions.

Strong planning skills

Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.

Communication Skills: (Writing, Foreign Language, Reasoning)

Ability to read, write and speak English.

Highly effective, articulate communication skills (verbal & written) with strong interpersonal effectiveness and the ability to work with all levels in the organization and across cultures.

Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.

Other Skills (Technical, or Other special knowledge and abilities)

Problem solver with a positive attitude and ability to make appropriate decisions

Flexibility in dealing with a variety of multiple projects and demands, business partners, and situations while remaining calm under pressure.

Experience with and quick learner of ERP and accounting software systems.

Physical Requirements:

85% of the time will be spent doing desk related work on a computer and working with basic office equipment (PC, fax and printer, phones) while the remaining 15% will be spent on the operations areas completing work related to the position.

Must be able to lift 25 pounds individually and team lift 50 pounds.

Able to work in an environment that is climate controlled but is exposed to potential heat, rain, and cold.

Must be able to perform this job safely in accordance with standard operating procedures without endangering the health or safety of self or others. Must wear all personal protective equipment where required.
