Specialty Fabricator

Reports To: Plant Manager
FLSA Status: Non- Exempt

SUMMARY
This position is to specialize in fabricating stone type countertop materials where a drop miter application is required. Many applications will require wood jigs be designed and built by the fabricator to support the project during fabrication.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Read and interpret plans and blueprints to produce custom stone structures
• Create substructures to assemble complex structures
• Shape angles in stone by hand
• Operate power saws, routers, and hand tools of various sizes
• Hand grind and polish countertops with skill and finesse
• Use glues and caulks to join seams and parts
• Physically lift and move substantial parts

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma
• Ability to use angle finder
• Ability to visualize and assemble complex structures
• Able to read CAD drawings and cross sections
• Great creativity and problem solving skills
• Great time management skills
• Exceptional math skills
• Self-Starter
• Detail-oriented
• Works well in a teamwork environment

PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• 1-3 years fabrication/building experience

MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
• Ability to work while standing for 8 to 12 hour shifts
• Ability to move and carry substantial parts on varied surfaces
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to safely operate overhead crane
• Ability to follow all safety requirements
• Ability to use measuring tools
