We are looking to hire a full-time permanent paralegal ASAP.

Once hired the candidate will go through a 90- day probationary period before being officially hired.

The candidate must possess the following:

• Bilingual Spanish. Must be able to read and write fluent Spanish and English.

• Must be able and comfortable translating Spanish to English and English to Spanish

• Computer literate and savvy

• Recent writing sample ( does not have to be a legal paper)

• Paralegal or Legal Studies Degree

• Genuine interest in the practice of law and assisting disabled/handicapped clients

• Three references. At least one reference must be from a former or current employer

• Candidate must provide a one-page resume and one-page cover letter in PDF. Emailed to spersaud@sharminepersaud.com and 

• Cover letter should discuss why the candidate feels she/he is well suited for the position and explain in one page why she/he chose the legal industry for employment

  Additional requirements which will enhance the candidates chance of being hired.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft word ( and converting word documents to PDF)

• Adobe Acrobat (familiarity with encryption and password documents)

• Excel spreadsheets

• Familiarity downloading PDF and Zip files

• Notary Stamp (if candidate is not a notary he/she is expected to become a notary after being hired)

• Scanning legal documents into legal software program

• Ability to work in a paperless environment

• Proper knowledge about maintaining PII and client confidentiality

  Busy growing Massapequa law office. Seeking bright self-starter, energetic, articulate, organized legal assistant. Good speaking voice. Professional appearance/neat business attire. Knowledge of Microsoft, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook calendar. Candidate must be able to compose a letter and proof read documents. Must be able to diary deadlines for follow up. Detailed oriented and conscientious. Should be able to keep a neat organized desk. Punctuality and patience a must. At least one year law office experience, however, we are willing to consider the right person with less experience as long as she/he meets other criteria.
