Safety Specialist

The Safety Specialist will help Fischer take our safety programs to the next level This role will be responsible for implementing, monitoring and administering the company’s overall health and safety programs to ensure our employee's safety is a top priority. This role will provide training to employees on safety policies and practices and audit practices to be sure safe processes are followed.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Creating and maintaining safety procedures in the workplace, including emergency response plans and fire drills.
  • Conducting investigations into employee complaints regarding exposure to hazardous materials or conditions.
  • Developing and implementing new health and safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Coordinating environmental and occupational health and safety programs.
  • Training employees in health and safety policies and best practices.
  • Conducting inspections and identifying hazards and EHS violations.
  • Providing solutions and intervention strategies for hygiene, health, and safety hazards.
  • Monitoring operational processes and employee activities.
  • Generating assessment documentation, incident and accident reports, and health and safety manuals for compliance with EHS programs and company intiitatives.
  • Reporting to management, OSHA, and other regulatory agencies.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in an Safety Role in a manufacturing environment along with a Bachelor’s degree in safety management, occupational safety or similar
  • OSHA or similar EHS Certification
  • Detailed knowledge of relevant regulations such as OSHA, EPA, and ANSI.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong teamwork and collaborative abilities.
  • Strong training abilities.
  • Ability to flex work hours to support multiple shifts
