JOB SUMMARY: On-site

This position is responsible for accounting for all grant agreements, including government contract invoicing, managing AP, and facilitating the monthly accounting closing process.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

·         Preparing invoicing for various cost-reimbursement grants and fee-for-service contracts monthly.

·         Coordinate the follow-through on deadlines and financial reporting requirements over the life of each grant or contract.

·         Maintain grant and contract information (excel subsidiary ledger).

·         Reconcile and review all AR & AP modules transactions and activities.

·         Manager the AR & AP Aging details & summary schedule to ensure accuracy & timeliness. Update weekly cash flow reports.

·         Monitor & Allocate expenditures in accordance with approved grant agreements or contracts.

·         Review & Monitor payroll processing systems in coordination with the accountant and collaboration with the HR Manager to ensure accuracy and correctness for timely submission.

·         Prepares and maintains accurate records, payroll transactions reports, and business reports.

·         Analyze and reconcile GL accounts in the monthly/quarterly/year-end closing process.

·         Assist the Finance Director in preparing budget proposals & modifications.

·         Assist with annual tax and compliance reporting.

·         Facilitates audit by providing records and documentation to auditors.

·         Understanding the financials of a non-profit organization to meet legal requirements and keep the financial state in good standing.

·         Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

·         Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business, or related fields. CPA is highly desired.

·         At least 3 years experience in non-profit accounting.

·         Experience with Quickbooks and Bill.com is strongly preferred.

·         Valid CA Driver’s License and ability to be covered on agency license (preferred)

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Typical conditions include working in an office setting, constant keyboarding, handling, and other repetitive hand motions, and constant sitting. Work conditions also include visiting various neighbourhoods in San Francisco by vehicle and walking. Also standing longer periods of time for recruiting events.
