Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe're looking for highly qualified and dedicated lifeguards to join our team and ensure the safety of our pool patrons. As a lifeguard, you will be responsible for monitoring the pool area, identifying potential hazards, and taking appropriate action to prevent accidents and injuries. This is a part-time, seasonal position with flexible scheduling options.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor the pool area constantly, scanning the water and deck for signs of distress, injury, or potential hazards
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies, using rescue equipment and first aid skills as needed
- Communicate clearly and effectively with pool patrons, other lifeguards, and management staff
- Enforce pool rules and regulations, providing guidance and assistance to pool patrons as needed
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including the pool deck, bathhouse, and surrounding areas
- Participate in training and drills to maintain and improve lifeguarding skills
- Collaborate with other lifeguards and management staff to ensure the smooth operation of the pool facility
Requirements:
- Current certification in Lifeguarding, First Aid, (or able to obtain within 10 days of hire)
- Ability to swim 200 yards using any stroke, retrieve a 10-pound brick from the bottom of the pool, and swim 200 yards back to the starting point within 3 minutes, 30 seconds
- Strong knowledge of pool safety protocols and emergency response procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Physical ability to perform lifeguarding duties, including standing for long periods, swimming, and carrying heavy equipment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a lifeguard or aquatic professional
- Knowledge of pool chemicals and water testing procedures
- Familiarity with pool maintenance and repair processes
