Formax Headerman Operator / Technicians (Nightshift 5PM - 5:15AM)

Position Summary:

COLD FORMING experience preferred but not required. Responsible for operation of a high-speed production line machine. Able to inspect for various quality issues. Able to work with minimal supervision when needed. Able to use varying measurement devices such as calipers, mics, comparator, and depth gages. Able to read in tenths and thousandths. Must be able to read and understand drawings and prints. Able to communicate to Formax technician issues encountered with equipment. Ensure that all materials being used are accurate to current product build. Maintain inventory levels of components to keep machine running efficiently. Continually inspect for various quality issues. Resolve as needed. Ensure proper lot identification is recorded on all paperwork. Fill out daily production log. Daily removal of generated trash. Keep machine and area organized and clean throughout shift. Perform end of shift machine shut down and clean up procedure.

Responsibilities:

  • Able to work well with others in a team environment.
  • Must be able to follow instructions and perform duties as asked.
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge about cold forming processes preferred.
  • Able to use a lapping lathe, belt sander, vice, and other various industrial equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely fashion
  • Load and unload equipment and materials
  • Provide innovative solutions to improve plant efficiency
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance on the plant
  • Log and record readings for equipment and procedures
  • Able to read and write, as well as possess basic math skills.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in plant operations or other related fields
  • Familiarity with plant tools and equipment
  • Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to handle physical workload
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Safety Requirements:

  • Must be able to wear safety glasses for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to wear ear plugs for long periods of time.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Education: Recognized certificate of training or diploma in a course of study in general mechanics preferred (not required)
  • Experience: Industrial or specialized maintenance experience preferred (not required)
