Phillips County Sheriffs Office is the only Local Law Enforcement in Phillips County KS. Duties include but are not limited to: patrolling the local communities and county, responding to emergency and non-emergency calls, Civil Process and traffic control for special events EG: parades.
As a Deputies are also be responsible for the County Jail and perform Jailer duties as well as Bailiff Duties during Court. When not responding to a call, Court or the in Jail, Deputies are highly encourage to engage in Pro-Active traffic stops and encounters to catch offenders.
We offer Health, Dental, Vision and Life insurance. Health insurance is $150 for a family with a $600 Family deductible. KPERS retirement program. Monthly phone allowance and take home patrol vehicle. All uniforms, firearms, and outer-vest body armor are provided. We work 12-hour shifts scheduled as 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off making every other weekend a 3 day weekend. Holiday and Overtime Pay. We also pay for gym memberships to our local Wellness Center for those that wish to participate.

Deputy pay is $18.98/hour, certified Law Enforcement is negotiable. New Hires are eligible for a $4,000 hiring incentive.
Applicants must have be 21 with a High School diploma or equivalent, not have any felony or drug convictions and be able to pass a physical/psychological exam along with a background check.
