Controls Engineer
Location: Romulus, Michigan

We are seeking a Controls Engineer with specialized experience in SiFACS/GFACS systems to support our operations at a GM propulsion/powertrain plant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in control systems design, development, and troubleshooting, as well as a deep understanding of General Motors (GM) production environments, specifically within propulsion and powertrain manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement control systems for manufacturing processes in a GM powertrain plant.
  • Leverage expertise in SiFACS and GFACS systems to ensure efficient and reliable control solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize production processes and troubleshoot any automation or controls issues.
  • Conduct regular system diagnostics, maintenance, and updates to ensure continuous operation of GM propulsion systems.
  • Provide technical support for the installation and integration of new equipment and control systems.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of system designs, modifications, and troubleshooting procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience with SiFACS and GFACS systems in a GM powertrain or propulsion environment.
  • Strong knowledge of automation systems, PLC programming, and industrial control systems.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing operations in the automotive industry, particularly within General Motors facilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong communication and team collaboration skills.
