Job DescriptionJob Description

Summary: Purchasing Agent responsibilities include creating, confirming supplier received PO and tracking order until delivery and updating purchase order records (e.g. dates, invoices and pricing, receipt discrepancies.) Ultimately, you will make cost effective purchases and assist in ensuring we maintain a properly stocked inventory.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs
  • Create and order purchased materials and make expedite requests when required • Make applicable business decisions that expedite the supply of critical items
  • Maintain current pricing contracts with responsibility to all pricing modifications
  • Place purchase orders with designated suppliers and maintain MRP settings when appropriate
  • Maintain delivery schedule for all ordered items
  • Ensure follow up with suppliers to ensure product fulfillment on all open purchase orders
  • Update internal databases with purchase order details (dates, vendors, quantities, pricing) • Maintain updated records of invoices and contract pricing
  • Establish and maintain open communication with all established vendors regarding out-of-stock and/or obsolete product with possible LTB opportunities
  • Follow up with suppliers, as needed, to confirm or change orders
  • Liaise with warehouse staff to ensure all products arrive consistent to the details on the purchase order
  • Communicate with Suppliers on discrepancies on purchase orders (overages or shortage or damaged goods)
  • Process invoice price discrepancies and update current supplier pricing with systems
  • Assume additional responsibilities the parts manager may assign

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Experience in a purchasing/procurement role
  • Proven ability to forecast demand and project need
  • Proficiency with MS Outlook, Word and Excel required, and ability to learn quickly other web-based platform systems
  • Familiarity with ERP, MRP or inventory management software, (preferred)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills
  • Hands-on commitment to getting the job done

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
