Our client, one of the nation's largest investment and banking firms, is in search of a Senior System Administrator to bolster our Securities Processing division. We're seeking a candidate with extensive expertise in crafting, deploying, and maintaining cloud-based solutions specifically on the Azure platform. As a pivotal member of our team, the Senior System Administrator will play a vital role in optimizing our IT infrastructure for scalability, reliability, and peak performance within the cloud environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect, implement, and manage Azure infrastructure solutions encompassing virtual machines, virtual networks, storage accounts, and Azure Active Directory.
  • Configure and fine-tune Azure services like Azure App Service, Azure SQL Database, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and Azure Functions for optimal performance.
  • Enforce robust security measures, identity management protocols, and access controls within Azure environments.
  • Monitor Azure resources, dissect performance metrics, and deploy scaling strategies to ensure uninterrupted availability and peak performance.
  • Seamlessly integrate on-premises infrastructure with Azure Cloud via hybrid networking solutions like Azure ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, or Azure Site-to-Site VPN.
  • Facilitate the smooth migration of existing workloads and applications to Azure Cloud, minimizing downtime while maximizing efficiency.
  • Implement hybrid identity solutions leveraging Azure Active Directory Connect to seamlessly manage authentication and access across on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Automate infrastructure deployment and configuration tasks utilizing infrastructure as code (IaC) principles through tools like Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, PowerShell DSC, or Azure Automation.
  • Establish and streamline continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Azure DevOps or other DevOps tools to facilitate efficient application deployment and management.
  • Collaborate closely with development teams to optimize the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and enhance release management processes within Azure environments.
  • Adhere to Azure security best practices and compliance standards, incorporating Azure Security Center recommendations, network security groups (NSGs), and Azure Policy.
  • Conduct routine security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to identify and mitigate security risks within Azure environments.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS, and industry standards in all Azure Cloud deployments.
  • Document Azure infrastructure configurations, deployment procedures, and best practices for knowledge sharing and training purposes.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of Azure resources, configurations, and change management processes.
  • Fulfill any other duties as required and assigned.

Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in system administration, with a specific focus on Azure Cloud solutions.
  • Microsoft Azure certifications such as Azure Administrator Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert are highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Azure services, networking, security, and identity management.
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools and scripting languages such as PowerShell, Azure CLI, and ARM templates.
  • Solid understanding of hybrid cloud architectures and integration patterns.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, keen attention to detail, and the capability to work independently or collaboratively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective interaction with diverse stakeholders.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2016/2019, Active Directory, and Microsoft's ecosystem.
