Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of accounting experience and a strong understanding of financial principles and practices. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, and providing insightful analysis to support business decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
- Manage general ledger accounts and perform reconciliations.
- Assist with the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Coordinate and prepare internal and external financial reports.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
- Assist in audits and liaise with external auditors.
- Identify process improvements and implement best practices.
- Provide financial analysis to support management decisions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address financial issues.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Assist in cash flow management and projections.
- Prepare tax filings and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Monitor and analyze financial data for discrepancies and variances.
- Participate in financial planning and strategy discussions.
- Mentor and train junior accounting staff.
- Develop and maintain financial models to support business planning.
- Participate in system implementations and upgrades as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting,
- 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment (but not mandatory).
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Proficient in Excel
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Important to have a sense of urgency and the ability to work in a high-volume environment
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
