Job Title: Senior Healthcare Data Architect (Full-Time)

Location: Hybrid; 4 days a week in office, 1 day remote

Classification: Exempt

Synopsis: La Clínica del Pueblo is looking for a Senior Healthcare Data Architect who shares our passion for addressing health needs of our community. The Senior Healthcare Data Architect is a vital part of our team, as they play a key role in compiling and providing data and making it actionable by utilizing various tools for visualization, storytelling, etc. to help drive the team to make strong decisions to improve our patient population outcomes.

The Senior Data Architect works under the direction of the Quality Improvement Manager to perform tasks which ensure accurate, complete, and timely reporting of client-level data to internal and external stakeholders. A key function of this position is writing queries and generating standardized and/or customized reports using various software programs and tools for electronic medical record, as well as ensuring appropriate maintenance of databases and data reporting systems.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in computer science, information systems or a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years working with SQL building queries, stored procedure writing and report creation

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • 5 years working with SQL
  • Previous experience working with healthcare data

Required Skills/Abilities/Certifications/Licenses:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access; advanced knowledge and use of Pivot Tables required.
  • Thorough knowledge of relational database theory and practice
  • In depth knowledge of report development in an SQL environment
  • Knowledge of logical and physical data modeling concepts (relational and dimensional)
  • Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills, detail oriented
  • Excellent documentation, communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and in team environment
  • Knowledge of qualitative data collection methods to capture patient experience information

Preferred Skills/Abilities/Certifications/Licenses:

  • Experience with eClinicalWorks software a plus
  • Experience working with analytics and population health platforms, such as Relevant, Azara, etc.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI, Infogram or other visual analytics platforms
  • Understanding of processes/procedures and workflow within a clinical setting, preferred
  • Knowledge of national health standard reports and measures, i.e. Uniform Data System (UDS), Ryan White (RSR), CAREWare, Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS)
  • Bilingual Spanish/English

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Data Management

  • Provide database support and maintenance to La Clinica’s software, and other funder-required databases
  • Generate and deploy regular internal recurring reports to improve data completeness and quality
  • Work in partnership with organizational leaders to design metrics and indicators that answer key business questions to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness
  • Support delivery of timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required.

Data Analysis

  • Analyze tables to establish knowledge of data for accurate retrieval and use in report writing
  • Build projects, write queries, views, or stored procedures to extract data
  • Test and validate reports to ensure accuracy and quality
  • Develop and maintain a variety of report types based on user need, including but not limited to tabular, drill down, matrix, and charts

Information Systems

  • Participates in the governance of the use and configuration of the EHR and related platforms, making recommendations for modifications to improve overall functionality and efficiency, including for staff use, data gathering and reporting
  • Prepare Provider Data Import (PDI) of required variables for CAREWARE for upload

Teamwork and Communication

  • Work closely with organizational leaders to develop, write, test, and deploy standardized and/or customized reports to meet La Clinica’s regulatory, operational, and quality improvement needs
  • Work closely with La Clinica’s COO and team to generate reports for the annual Uniform Data Report (UDS), Ryan White Services Report (RSR), and Family Planning Annual Report (FPAR)
  • Work closely with requestor to understand report requirements and specifications
  • Work closely with end users to maintain, automate and increase efficiency of existing reports
  • Serve on La Clinica’s working groups as requested
  • Represent La Clinica in relevant external meetings
  • Attend required trainings and workshops
  • Follow La Clinica’s policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • 1-2 data analysts
