SUMMARY 
The IT Helpdesk Technician will provide technical assistance and answers to users questions, assist users by troubleshooting problems with computer hardware or software, and resolve computer-related issues. A desirable candidate will be someone who enjoys working with cross-functional teams and has a customer service, quality first mindset. Collaboration, learning and exchanging ideas are key components of our team, and we are seeing someone who shares those values.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Provide professional assistance for all equipment failures and service issues for all users within a timely manner (as established by the Service Level Agreement Times).
  • Log time and problem resolutions into the ticketing system in a timely manner. Fully document problems and resolutions in the ticket for historical purposes, preferably before starting new tickets.
  • Follow-up on tickets in a timely manner, communicate with users so they are informed about the status of their tickets or to ensure service has been restored and the ticket can be closed.
  • Troubleshoot general computer hardware and software issues.
  • Troubleshoot Windows, Office 365, printer, and general network issues.
  • Troubleshoot general connectivity, wired and wireless issues.
  • Setup new laptop and desktop stations as well as perform maintenance on existing equipment.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred or equivalent of an Associate's degree in an IT related field with computer operations training.
  • At least three years of experience in customer technical support highly preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in a clear and concise manner.
  • Good knowledge of computer hardware with the ability to assemble a computer.
  • Team player, proactive, organized, reliable, and self-motivated.
  • Attention to detail, good cable management, and good documentation skills.
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Available for planned support and emergencies outside normal business hours.
