General Laborer

Job Description:
As a General Laborer in our mining equipment repair shop, you will be a crucial part of our team, supporting various tasks essential for maintaining and repairing mining equipment. While experience in sandblasting is a bonus, we're primarily seeking individuals who are not afraid to get dirty and are willing to learn and contribute to our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Assistance with Equipment Repair:
- Assist skilled technicians in repairing and maintaining mining equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, haul trucks, and drills.
- Help with disassembling, cleaning, and inspecting equipment components for damage or wear.
- Support technicians in repairing or replacing worn or damaged parts, following instructions and safety protocols.
Surface Preparation and Sandblasting (Bonus):
- If experienced or willing to learn, assist with sandblasting operations to prepare equipment surfaces for repair or coating.
- Help set up sandblasting equipment and ensure the proper blasting media is used for the task at hand.
- Work alongside experienced sandblasters to achieve desired surface finishes while adhering to safety guidelines.
General Shop Maintenance:
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the repair shop and work areas, including sweeping, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste materials.
- Assist in inventory management by organizing parts and supplies and keeping track of stock levels.
- Perform minor maintenance tasks on tools and equipment, such as greasing, lubricating, or changing filters.
Qualifications:
- Willingness to learn and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and an interest in repairing and maintaining equipment.
- Experience with sandblasting is a bonus but not required; on-the-job training will be provided.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform tasks such as lifting heavy objects and working in confined spaces.
