Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Are you an experienced and mechanically inclined individual who enjoys working on a wide range of diesel and heavy equipment? If so, we have the job for you We are currently looking for a hard working individual to hire as our full time service mechanic, managing our fleet of commercial construction equipment Experience in heavy equipment/diesel repair and maintenance is required, and use of personal tools is preferred. The individual also must have a valid drivers license. Full time work in Newark, Oh.
The job is Monday through Friday, paid weekly, $26-$28 / hour
Preferred experience in the industry, including work on dozers, excavators, rollers, tractors, diesel engines, etc.
Duties & Responsibilities: (including but not limited to...)
· Diagnose and repair construction equipment such as excavators, dozers, rollers, and tractors of multiple sorts. This includes but is not limited to hydraulic systems, cylinders, pumps, motors, and valves using hoists and hand tools.
· Repair heavy and/or light-duty vehicles such as engines, transmissions, clutches, brakes, air conditioning, electrical troubleshooting, change oil, etc.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues to determine the root cause of problems.
- Conduct inspections of mechanical products, equipment, and vehicles often to identify potential issues, or after repair/ assembly to ensure equipment is in safe working condition, lubricate and service as needed.
- Check, fill, and/or change appropriate fluids for all equipment parts and check/change filters.
- Collaborate closely with other team members to coordinate repairs and maintenance schedules.
- Order, maintain inventory, and install all parts as needed or as directed.
- Independently perform on-site diagnostic, repairs and maintenance as needed.
- All other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- High School Diploma /or equivalent.
- 3+ years of mechanical experience (preferably construction related)
- Strong mechanical aptitude & problem-solving skills
- General knowledge of equipment components & systems
- Ability to work independently & manage time effectively.
- Physically fit & capable of heavy lifting, as needed.
- Valid CDL (can obtained once hired)
- 10-Hour OSHA (can obtain once hired)
