Job Summary: The Swimming Pool Technician is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of swimming pools, ensuring they are safe, clean, and functional for use. This role involves a combination of technical skills, customer service, and attention to detail to ensure pools are operating at optimal levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Routine Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance tasks on swimming pools, including cleaning, vacuuming, and balancing chemicals to ensure water quality meets health and safety standards.

  2. Cleaning and Skimming: Skim debris from the surface of the pool, brush walls and tiles, and vacuum the pool floor to remove dirt and algae buildup. Empty all necessary baskets.

  3. Chemical Handling: Handle and store pool chemicals safely and according to manufacturer guidelines, ensuring proper dosages and procedures are followed to maintain water quality and safety.

  4. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, water test results, and inventory levels, and communicate any issues or recommendations to management.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in swimming pool maintenance, repair, or a related field is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual tasks, lift heavy equipment, and work in outdoor conditions.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols and procedures.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record may be required.

Working Conditions:

  • Work primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, sun, and occasional rain.
  • May be exposed to chemicals used in pool maintenance; proper safety precautions must be followed.
  • Flexible schedule may be required to accommodate maintenance needs.
  • Physical demands include lifting heavy equipment, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.

Other:

  • Part-time to start with the opportunity of full time.
  • Personal truck is a plus, will be compensated for use.
