Job Openings for Immediate Hire for Full-Time & Part Time CDL and Non CDL Drivers

J and J Surplus Logistics Inc is an independent contractor for FedEx Ground, operating out of FedEx's Ground Terminal. We presently have openings for immediate hire for full-time and part-time CDL and Non CDL Driver positions. Must be able to report to the terminal by 7:00am daily. Driving experience is a must.

 

Job Description

If you are an experienced driver, interested in working in a fast-paced environment and able to work with little to no supervision, this is the perfect job for you.

As a delivery and pick-up driver, you will be loading packages at FedEx's Ground Terminal each morning. Then make numerous deliveries and pickups on an assigned route. Must promptly deliver all deliverable packages assigned daily; pick-ups are a must.

 

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements

You must be at least 21 years of age.

Have 1 year of commercial driving experience within the last 3 years or 3 years within the last 7 years, CDL NOT required. This may include self-employed driving roles such as Uber/Lyft, hauling equipment/materials, or driving a company vehicle.

Must be able to pass a DOT physical, drug screening and criminal background check to become a driver and while employed with our corporation.

Have no more than 1 minor traffic violation or minor accident on Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) within the past 36 months.

Must have and maintain a valid Driver's License.

Must be able to safely get in and out of a delivery vehicle on average 70-125 times a day.

Be able to lift, load and deliver packages up to 175lbs with use of a hand truck.

Must be able to consistently work a minimum of 6 days a week, and at least 1 weekend day.

Must be capable of learning and operating equipment and software such as scanners, and GPS.

Must be reliable and maintain an excellent attendance record.

 

Duties included but not limited to:

- Safely operate a box truck or van in a variety of weather and traffic conditions, while abiding by all applicable laws and company policies.

- Excellent organizational, communication and time management skills.

- Pickup and deliver packages to and from customer locations in a timely manner and meet daily delivery expectations.

- Inspect and monitor delivery vehicle – fluid levels, oil changes, tires, etc – and obtain timely maintenance by designated maintenance providers.

- Maintain accurate inventory of packages.

- Completing monthly online safety training courses. (SAFETY)

- Arrive at the FedEx terminal in Florence, South Carolina no later than 6:00 am EST

- Professional conduct towards customers, teammates, FedEx Ground station employees.

- Integrity, honesty and reliability.

- Maintain a clean, neat and professional appearance.

 

Paid Frequency

Weekly

Pay: $14.00 - $22.00 per hour based on experience

 

Schedule

Day shift, Weekends, Mandatory Overtime

 

COVID-19 Considerations

To keep our drivers safe we provide hand sanitizer, cleaning supplies for truck interior and masks.
