About: 

Our client, a leading organization in chemical manufacturing, dedicated to innovation and excellence in chemical engineering is looking for a talented Chemical Engineer to join their dynamic team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge manufacturing processes and safety procedures.

This is a long-term contract role with the possibility of extension or direct hire for the right candidate. The pay rate is $53.50 hourly. (benefits are available) 

 esponsibilities:

  • Develop safety procedures for those working with potentially dangerous chemicals.
  • Troubleshoot problems with manufacturing processes.
  • Evaluate equipment and processes to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct research to develop new and improved manufacturing processes.
  • Design and plan the layout of equipment.
  • Perform tests and monitor performance of processes throughout production.
  • Estimate production costs for management.
  • Develop processes to separate components of liquids or gases or to generate electrical currents using controlled chemical processes.
  • Lead and supervise a team of technicians, ensuring efficient and safe operations.

Education and Training:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related engineering fields.
  • Practical experience through cooperative engineering programs or similar structured job experience is highly valued.

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience in catalyst evaluation, and design and operation of process equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of operating, troubleshooting, and designing lab or pilot scale catalyst testing apparatus.
  • Expertise in pilot scale testing unit maintenance and safety requirements.
  • Knowledge of circulating fluidized bed operation, and/or reaction and fluidization engineering is beneficial.
  • Experience in catalyst testing and materials science, including physical or chemical characterization, is a plus.
  • Familiarity with process and automatic control equipment and software (e.g., LabView or Ignition) is highly desirable but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to write technical reports and effectively communicate to a broader audience.
