Commercial Construction Estimator

Position Responsibilities:

• Review and maintain pricing from a historical database for new & conceptual bid projects
• Review and understand project bid documents including plans, specifications, all related addenda and other relative correspondence as it relates to the area of your assigned estimate.
• Provide and communicate accurate and competitive cost of construction scopes of work
• Develop and maintain sound relationships with suppliers and subcontractors
• Develops & writes scopes of work for customers and subcontractors
• Prepare estimates and complete takeoff of multiple scopes of work division
• Understand Conceptual Budgeting, GMP, and CM at Risk bidding processes
• Interface with owner, contractors and others, to provide cost data regarding project feasibility
• Follow awarded contracts to include – Financial Costing meetings, Project management head off, change orders, etc.
• Attend Pre-Bid meetings as required to gather all pertinent information related to a project and your assigned estimate division
• Use of electronic take-off software and office applications.

Position Requirements:

• College Degree and/or Successful Construction Experience Providing Take-offs (3+ years)
• Computer Literacy
• Ability to work on/with multiple projects and/or project managers
• Extensive MS Excel aptitude
• Estimating / Construction Software Experience (Sage)
• Understanding of construction systems and the ability to “build it in your head”
• Construction quantity take-off and conversion skills, Both Digitally and on Hard Copies
• Ability to read and produce construction documents
• Decision making ability
