Overview:
As a Licensed Therapist at our Addiction Treatment Center, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive therapeutic services to individuals struggling with addiction. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions to support clients in their journey towards recovery. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate closely with medical professionals, counselors, and other specialists to ensure holistic care for our clients. This role requires empathy, clinical expertise, and a commitment to empowering individuals to overcome addiction and achieve lasting sobriety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of clients' mental health, substance use history, and treatment needs.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, incorporating client goals and evidence-based practices.
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions to address underlying issues contributing to addiction and facilitate recovery.
- Utilize a variety of therapeutic modalities, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed care.
- Monitor and evaluate clients' progress throughout treatment, adjusting interventions as needed to ensure effectiveness.
- Collaborate with the treatment team to coordinate care, including psychiatrists, nurses, case managers, and support staff.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all therapeutic interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes in accordance with organizational policies and legal requirements.
- Provide crisis intervention and support to clients experiencing acute mental health or substance-related issues.
- Educate clients and their families about addiction, recovery principles, relapse prevention strategies, and community resources.
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and continuing education opportunities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Master's or doctoral degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field.
- Current licensure as a therapist (e.g., LPC, LCSW, LMFT) in California.
- Experience working in addiction treatment or behavioral health settings preferred.
- Strong understanding of addiction, co-occurring mental health disorders, and evidence-based treatment approaches.
- Ability to establish rapport with diverse clients and create a supportive therapeutic environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and compassionate manner.
- Capacity for empathy, patience, and nonjudgmental listening.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to maintaining ethical standards and confidentiality in all aspects of client care.
- Flexibility to adapt to the evolving needs of clients and the treatment center environment.
