Nauti Spirits is a well-known, 7-year-old, highly awarded, 60-acre true farm distillery located in the beautiful and historic coastal area of Cape May, NJ. We pride ourselves on our farm-to-bottle approach, crafting world class spirits with integrity and passion from start to finish.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Production to lead our distilling operations. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of experience as a head distiller and a deep love for farm-to-bottle craft distilling. This role requires a strong leader who can mentor and work collaboratively with a dedicated team, as well as someone who enjoys interacting with guests and partnering with our retail and on-premise distribution customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of production, from grain to glass, ensuring the highest quality standards.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of distillery production staff.
- Manage the production schedule to meet demand while maintaining product quality and consistency.
- Develop and implement innovative production techniques and recipes, with a focus on creativity and excellence.
- Engage with guests during tours and tastings, sharing the story and process behind our spirits.
- Work closely with outside distribution customers to promote and expand our product reach.
- Maintain and operate Vendome stills and other distillation equipment.
- Perform physically demanding labor, including lifting at least 50 lbs regularly.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Manage inventory and sourcing of raw materials and supplies.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to align production with market demands.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience as a head distiller, with deep knowledge of distilling science and crafting multiple artisan spirits from raw ingredient to final spirit (GNS-only and blending-only experience will not be considered)
- Passion for farm-to-bottle craft distilling and doing things the right way.
- Proven leadership skills with experience in mentoring/instructing others and working as part of a true team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; a genuine people person.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting at least 50 lbs.
- Demonstrated creativity and commitment to spirit quality excellence.
- Experience with Vendome stills is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
