Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Industrial Packaging Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing packaging solutions that ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective distribution of our products. The Industrial Packaging Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, logistics, quality assurance, and marketing, to meet packaging requirements and support company objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Development: Create and develop packaging solutions that meet product specifications, regulatory requirements, and customer needs.
  • Material Selection: Evaluate and select appropriate materials for packaging based on product characteristics, cost, sustainability, and performance.
  • Prototyping and Testing: Develop prototypes and conduct rigorous testing to ensure packaging durability, functionality, and compliance with standards.
  • Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities to reduce packaging costs through material optimization, design innovation, and process improvements.
  • Sustainability: Implement environmentally friendly packaging solutions and strategies to reduce the company's carbon footprint and support sustainability goals.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with production, logistics, quality assurance, and marketing teams to ensure packaging solutions align with overall company objectives and operational requirements.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of packaging designs, specifications, test results, and regulatory compliance.
  • Vendor Management: Liaise with packaging suppliers and vendors to source materials, negotiate costs, and ensure timely delivery of packaging components.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve packaging processes and solutions.
  • Problem-Solving: Address and resolve packaging-related issues that arise during production, storage, and transportation.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of [X] years of experience in packaging engineering or a similar role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and packaging design tools. Knowledge of packaging materials, testing standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to perform detailed testing and analysis.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with sustainable packaging initiatives and materials.
  • Knowledge of automation and packaging machinery.
  • Certification in packaging engineering or related fields.
