PHP Agency LLC., “PHP,” is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Dallas-based HQ team.

PHP is a national life insurance field marketing organization (“FMO”) founded in 2009 by visionary entrepreneur Patrick Bet-David. PHP partners with leading insurance and annuity carriers to offer a comprehensive basket of insurance products to a diverse client base in the middle-class market. PHP provides a part-time or full-time opportunity to individuals in this market wishing to pursue careers as life insurance agents. PHP passionately serves our diverse middle-class consumer clients through a field sales force of nearly 20,000 licensed agents (Q4 2021). PHP headquarters offices are in Addison, Texas (Dallas metroplex).

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to manage general accounting and financial processes of our company. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for all daily accounting tasks, including preparing tax documents and updating expense files. The role will perform financial transactions and post them in the general ledger, with strong attention to detail. The Staff Accountant will also carry out relevant administrative duties. This position will be reporting to the Accounting Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Prepare and review financial statements for accuracy.
  • Prepare and file tax returns.
  • Organize and update financial records.
  • Recommend ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare documentation for external auditors.
  • Maintain and update accounting records and files.
  • Analyze budgets and create expense reports.
  • Post transactions and categorize records in the general ledger (e.g. by assets, liabilities and expenses)
  • Reconcile bank statements.
  • Analyze transactions with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct month-end and year-end close.
  • Apply new accounting policies and ensure compliance with rules and regulations.
  • Report to the Accounting Manager and work to improve financial processes.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in accounting CPA Plus but not required
  • Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word, and must be able to work with pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and complex models. SQL experience a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required.
