As a Ranch Hand, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our ranch, including repair and maintenance of fences, buildings, and landscape. You will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and functionality of our facilities and equipment, as well as assisting with various tasks related to land management and agricultural operations. This position requires hands-on experience with machinery operation and maintenance, as well as a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Repair and build fences to maintain property boundaries, ensure livestock containment, and protect crops from wildlife.
  • Perform building maintenance tasks, including carpentry, painting, roofing repairs, and general upkeep of ranch structures.
  • Conduct landscape maintenance activities such as mowing yards and fields, pruning trees, clearing brush, and maintaining irrigation systems.
  • Operate and maintain machinery and equipment used in ranch operations, including tractors, mowers, ATVs, and power tools.
  • Assist with planting, harvesting, and other agricultural activities as needed, including driving tractors and operating farm implements.
  • Monitor and inspect equipment for signs of wear and damage, perform routine maintenance and repairs, and coordinate repairs with vendors as needed.
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Collaborate with ranch managers and other team members to prioritize tasks, allocate resources, and accomplish daily objectives effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and equipment maintenance schedules to track expenses and facilitate planning.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in ranching, farming, or related field, with hands-on experience in fence repair, building maintenance, and landscape management.
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining agricultural machinery and equipment, including tractors, mowers, and power tools.
  • Knowledge of basic carpentry, welding, and mechanical repair techniques preferred.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor, lift heavy objects, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to troubleshoot issues and find effective solutions.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed to meet operational demands.
