Title: Research Associate

Location: Chicago IL (60612)

Aegis Worldwide is seeking a Research Associate to join a manufacturer in the Chicagoland area. The Research Associate will work on the Research & Development (R&D) team to execute and analyze data on experiments designed to address business needs. They will spend their time preparing samples, testing PH, measuring moisture content, and running several other tests in the laboratory. This person will also be expected to record and analyze the data they receive.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Biology, or similar
  • 3-5+ years of experience running experiments, recording data, and making informed decisions based on the data
  • Knowledge of the following: Centrifuge, Texture analyzers, Rheometer, moisture analyzers, DSC, and PH Meter.
  • Understanding of emulsification applications
  • Knowledge of the fermentation process

Responsibilities:

  • Execute a variety of experiments under the supervision of the principal scientists, with detailed written instructions
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment with precision and attention to detail.
  • Follow established protocols and SOPs to ensure consistency and accuracy in testing procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support research initiatives.
  • Collect, record, and analyze experimental data using various software tools.
  • Interpret results and generate reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure the quality and integrity of experimental data through rigorous documentation and adherence to quality standards.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures.
  • Identify and troubleshoot any issues related to experimental procedures or equipment.
  • Actively contribute to the development and optimization of new laboratory techniques.
  • Collaborate with the ingredient science team to achieve project goals and timelines.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Participate in team meetings and provide updates on progress.
