The Lead Carpenter is responsible for the safe and successful completion of projects in accordance with company and client requirements. In addition to extensive carpentry experience, the ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills and exhibit an active team player mindset. We are in search of a candidate that is driven to produce a high-quality product in an efficient and conscientious manner.
Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise job site teams and operations to ensure successful project execution.
Ensure site operations are compliant with safety measures and promote a safe working environment.
Collaborate with the site project manager for ordering materials and scheduling.
Confirm material receipt, maintain inventory and coordinate disbursement of materials on site.
Maintain an organized job site.
Read and understand job plans including blueprints, drawings and specifications.
Coordinate and direct subcontractors on site.
Oversee project schedule for timely completion.
Manage and execute a range of projects, from residential to commercial.
Utilize a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
Track all job site progress daily in project management software.
Execute end-of-day procedures, including site clean-up and security.
Document project progress through daily digital reports.
Communicate clearly and professionally with homeowner clients.
Notify project manager/supervisor in advance of any necessary utility service interruptions onsite.
Requirements:
Proven carpentry and construction experience; 10 years preferred.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Display a commitment to high quality work.
Consistently deliver satisfactory results.
Demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities.
Possess a strong knowledge of framing.
Possess excellent communication skills.
Demonstrate a strong sense of accountability and integrity.
Reliable transport to office. Potential for company vehicle for travel to and from job sites.
Ability and willingness to physically assist with projects when necessary, including lifting heavy objects up to 80lbs.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time and work in various weather conditions.
Bilingual.
