G.A Rogers & Associates, in partnership with our Dallas-based client, is seeking a highly motivated Controller to join their dynamic team.

 

Picture a cohesive team + in a family focused culture + making a large impact in the insurance industry.

 

This individual will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial & statutory reporting, while also mentoring the accounting team and contributing to strategic financial planning & reporting.

 

This role is hybrid in downtown Dallas and requires a local candidate to the DFW area. They are open to relocation support, as well, to the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex.

 

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review accurate and timely financial statements, including quarterly and annual reports.
  • Oversee the entire accounting cycle, ensuring adherence to GAAP and Statutory accounting principles.
  • Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure data integrity.
  • Manage monthly reinsurance reporting, reconciliations, and collections.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to forecast budget and cash flow.
  • Stay abreast of changes in accounting regulations and industry best practices.
  • Partner with the CFO on financial analysis, capital management, and business transactions.
  • Manage internal and external audits, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
  • Mentor and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accounting and reporting efficiency.
  • Participate in financial planning activities, collaborating with the CFO & team to develop key performance indicators (KPIs).

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (CPA preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in insurance and statutory/GAAP accounting is required.
  • Proven experience in leading and mentoring an accounting team.
  • Strong understanding of internal controls and risk management principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive and results-oriented with a commitment to continuous improvement.
