Systems Engineer (Senior)

Overall Assignment Description:
As a Senior Systems Engineer for Emerging Sensors, you'll drive the integration of advanced technologies into the NSG enterprise. Collaborating with key stakeholders like ATS, Research, GI, CIO-T, and NGA mission partners, your role is pivotal in shaping future ground architectures for emerging sensors. You'll work closely with the Analysis Program Manager and Integration Lead, contributing to strategic planning and assessing the technical implications of capability deliveries. Your expertise will evaluate new technologies for NGA/NSG analyst use, providing insights to guide architectural decisions. Effective technical communication and cross-agency issue resolution are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate participation in emerging sensor activities, aligning with Section 3.1 of the SOW.
  • Provide input and assist in drafting/reviewing emerging sensor documentation.
  • Decompose emerging sensor capabilities into requirements and collaborate with IPA product managers for implementation.
  • Engage with mission customers and users to define future capabilities.
  • Contribute to developing system architectures enhancing mission services.
  • Evaluate new technologies for mission service suitability and conduct AoAs for data-driven recommendations.
  • Identify critical project decision points and offer Go/No-Go recommendations.
  • Conduct user outreach, communicate planned architecture changes, and collect feedback.
  • Generate weekly activity reports for government customers and the program.
  • Deliver effective technical presentations to various stakeholders.
  • Translate technical issues for diverse audiences and facilitate issue coordination.

Skills and Experience: Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Imagery Sciences, Physical Sciences, or a related STEM or technical field.
  • 12+ years of systems engineering, systems integration, or systems development experience.
  • Government or industry experience in areas like DoD/IC Acquisition Process, SAFe Agile, architecture integration, CONOPS, automation, computer vision, and imagery/geospatial analysis.
  • Experience in systems engineering within large, complex programs.

Desired:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Engineering, or a related STEM or technical field.
  • At least two years of recent experience leading systems engineering in an MSA.
  • 2+ years of experience in GEOINT analytic tradecraft and analysis production system development.
  • 2+ years of government acquisition processes experience.
  • 1+ years of agile systems development experience.
  • Leadership experience in programs and efforts at ODNI and USDI.
  • Background in Engineering, Physical Science, or Imagery Science.

Clearance Requirement: TS/SCI Security Clearance
