BUYER
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Issue purchase orders for assigned products and services, negotiate pricing and ensure supplier compliance, especially delivery dates and quantity/quality; resolve invoice discrepancies.
• Identify new and current key suppliers to include dual sourcing opportunities for critical long lead-time parts.
• Build and maintain supplier relationships to secure the best price, service, quality and delivery.
• Drive cost reduction and cost avoidance opportunities; participate in cost reduction projects.
• Ensure optimal inventory levels are maintained to minimize costs while ensuring a high level of service; proactively avoid material shortages.
• Manage supplier performance; ensure suppliers are performing at an acceptable level and participate in Supplier Team Audits and site visits.
• Work with internal customers, i.e. customer service, engineering, manufacturing, quality and accounting to streamline processes in support of customer service excellence.
• Work closely with Supplier Quality to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services to determine the source of trouble and take corrective action to minimize impact on production.
• Other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in Purchasing/Supply Chain - manufacturing environment desired.
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or equivalent business-related field, preferred.
